Artist’s Statement

Gestural identity is at the core of my work. Whether depicting a person, place, or object, I aim to translate each subject’s unique presence through movement, tension, and fluidity. My subjects are rendered with a sense of realism, but the abstract elements (composition, color, line, etc.) are equally essential to the visual language. I experiment with a range of painting and drawing media to cultivate a dynamic dialog between form and content throughout the body of my work.
